Recording Legacies
Frequently asked questions
A legacy film is for anyone who wants to preserve their story, memories, voice, and reflections for the people they love. While many families choose this for parents or grandparents, it can be meaningful for anyone who wants their story remembered.
That’s completely normal, and one of the most common concerns. Our process is designed to feel relaxed and conversational, not like a formal interview. Most people settle in quickly once we find a rhythm and they realise it’s simply about talking and sharing memories naturally.
This depends on the package chosen (and you can see the average session time included in the package descriptions above). Some recordings are completed in a single session, while others are spread across multiple days for a deeper, more detailed legacy film. Everything is planned around what feels most comfortable.
We take every project with the care and attention it deserves. So from the time we finish the recording session/s to the time you receive the final product will be between 7-14 days depending on the package selected and how you want the film delivered to you.
It starts with a simple conversation. Book a free consultation call and we’ll talk through what feels right, answer any questions, and explore which package best suits you and your family.
Not at all. I can help guide the process with thoughtful prompts and gentle conversation, helping shape the story naturally. If there are specific memories or messages you’d like included, we can plan those together beforehand to make sure we cover those with the depth and detail you would want.
Yes, loved ones can absolutely be part of the recording if that feels meaningful for you. Some families choose to include brief reflections, shared memories, or special conversations as part of the final film. Whilst others choose for the film to be a mystery to their family until they reveal it.
Most recordings take place in the comfort of your own home, where people feel most relaxed and natural. For some packages, filming in additional meaningful locations, such as a favourite holiday location, your local pub, or your children's home.
Your completed Legacy Film is delivered through a secure private link for easy download and safe keeping. Depending on your chosen package, a keepsake USB device may also be included for a physical presence with your Legacy Film.
Not at all. While some families choose to create a legacy film during later stages of life, or after bad news, many simply want to preserve stories while they can be told fully, naturally, and without urgency.
While we always recommend downloading and safely storing your film in multiple places, we securely retain a copy of every Legacy Film for up to five years after recording, just in case you ever need access to it again.
Yes we can. If you’d prefer your Legacy Film to be delivered for a particular date, milestone, or family event, we can absolutely discuss this during your consultation and make the necessary arrangements.
Some families choose this for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or as a meaningful future gift.
Absolutely. Every recording is handled with complete discretion, and your final film is delivered securely through a private link or a physical, secure device. Your story remains yours.
For more information on our privacy policy see the documents at the bottom of our home page. You can be sure we keep every single one of our clients' materials secure.
As much or as little as feels right. Some families like to help shape which questions, anecdotes and memories are discussed beforehand, while others prefer the process to unfold naturally during filming and leave it to be more of a surprise.
That’s completely fine. During your initial consultation, we’ll talk through what you’d like to preserve and which option feels most suitable, there’s no pressure to decide straight away.
Yes you can. Personal photographs, letters, and home videos can be included to help bring memories to life and add even more meaning to the stories and moments in the final film.
The experience is designed to feel calm and comfortable, never rushed. Sessions can be paced around the individual, with breaks and flexibility built in so the process feels natural and enjoyable.
We recommend a break every 30 minutes or so that we can keep the rhythm of the session whilst making sure you are comfortable and having fun making this Film.
